CRITICAL INCIDENT DEBRIEFING
For people who have been exposed to, involved in, or have witnessed a traumatic event, it is important that they get professional support as soon as possible. A traumatic event could be a co-worker's death, suicide, or serious illness; a violent or threatening incident in the work setting, or a natural or man-made disaster that affects the workers' ability to function in the workplace.
Critical incident stress debriefing can help prevent or limit the development of post-traumatic stress, for anyone exposed to a critical incident. Professionally conducted debriefings can help the individual cope with and recover from an incident's aftereffects. Critical incident stress debriefing (CISD) enables the person exposed to the incident, to understand that they are not alone in their reactions, to a distressing event, and provides them with an opportunity to discuss their thoughts, and feelings, in a controlled and safe environment. Ideally, critical incident stress debriefing, should take place within 24 to 72 hours of an incident.
Our critical incident response team are available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Our team have worked onsite for the Grenfell Tower, the London and Manchester terrorist attacks, bank robberies, suicide, and natural disasters.

Increase understanding
Empathise with another’s point of view
Improve a relationship

Define next steps

Prevent similar problems from recurring in the future
The conflicts addressed in mediation, can include workplace issues, family breakdowns and parenting plans.
Advocacy
We all know how frustrating it can be when people are not listening to us. Unfortunately, there are times when your opinions and concerns are not taken seriously by others, because you may either be experiencing a mental health problem, or you are not well informed of your rights. In those moments you would benefit from an advocate, who can support you to express your views, wishes, and help you understand your rights.
Our advocates are here to listen to your views, concerns, help you to explore your options, rights, and provide information to help you make informed decisions. We also know how daunting it can be, to communicate with professionals who you may feel are not listening to what you need. Our advocates will help you to contact the relevant people or contact them on your behalf. We will also accompany you and support you in meetings, and appointments.
Advocates will NOT make judgements about you, give their personal opinions, solve your problems, or make decisions for you.
